Emma please get in touch with me

It’s been a couple of days, I’m getting really worried! The police say it looks like there hasn’t been any foul play – that she left of her own volition… what is going on??

  1. Ok, I have the Facebook Message decoded. Now I am working on decoding the email address.

  2. I cannot figure out the email address, either! What could Emma have been thinking?

  3. Eric, I'm in the same boat (haha, pun intended). What have you tried?

I've tried seeing what the numbers would look like when typed in as a text message, when entered on a calculator and even (thank you husband) looked them up on an ascii hex code chart thingy. No luck. I'm trying to focus on the fact that there has to be an @ and a .com (or whatever) in there somewhere.

  4. Oh geeze, i have tried:
    * Creating a 5x5 grid of the alphabet (except z)and using the numbers as row/column locations
    * counting words and lines on the FB page and then counting letters.
    * using a standard QWERTY keyboard, counting rows and columns
    * simple number -> letter replacements
    * Morse code
    * leet speak
    * turning all the numbers 90 degrees and reading them as letters.

Probably more, but that's all i can think of now.

I know of a way to solve it, but bribing the designers seems like cheating.

  5. I think Eric is on to something. I looked at it for a while and I think it follows a grid pattern, where the first number is a column, and the second number is a row. I have to get back to work but hopefully tonight I can figure it out!

What's the answer to the first message? I haven't sat down to look at it yet.

  6. Well, I have everything but the domain. Now i need to find a clue for that. @bouldersandboatsadventures.com didnt seem to work. neither did gmail, yahoo, hotmail, blogspot, or msn either.

  7. Eric - are you just going to tease us or can you give a hint as to how you broke the code?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Mary - think of how you could visualize the strange symbols as letters.

  9. I used a method I had already tried, but the second time i didn't make a mistake.

  10. I have access to the blog, but don't know what to do. There isn't an obvious puzzle - unless I am blind.

  11. You're ahead of me - I'm still trying to figure out the domain name of the email address. :(

  12. I feel like I've tried a zillion things. A hint? Anyone? Pwetty pwease? :(

  13. I got it!

    Passcode: Intellect of intuition
    Email: WaywardInColorado@gmail.com

My instinct was right, if you look at those numbers as a column/row system, it spells that out! On to the next step!

  14. OH! I had 'or' instead of 'of' in the passcode. Thanks!

  15. what does this mean ? "It’s all about nature’s pantry at this point. "

  16. Ainsley, do the initials TL and DR mean anything to you?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Eric - no idea. All I could figure is that she's taking some sort of supplement to help her sleep. I Googled it but that didn't really help. I'm not sure I'm cut out for this sort of game! :(

I think the 'Blocking my Blog' post might mean that the only people she initially invited to the blog were 'TL' and 'DR'...?

    ReplyDelete
  18. TL;DR is Emma's way of saying "Too long, didn't read." She's always on the go and is not very good about reading the fine print.

She's taking some sort of supplement for sleep? Emma has never had a problem sleeping before... can you figure out where she's getting her supplements from?

  19. Hey wait, Nature's Pantry is a real store. Maybe they have something that Emma's talking about?

I didn't find anything preliminarily, but I'll take a look in a little bit!

  20. Ainsley,
    Could she be shopping here:
    Nature's Pantry‎ 545 U.S. 24, Buena Vista, CO 81211(719) 395-2649‎

Also, do you have access to the records of people who have taken past tours? She's clearly going after a man who was on the tour that finished up right around 4/17, who gave her that stone.

  21. Never mind about the tourists - saw your post on FB.

  22. Guys I found it! I did a search for "anti", and came across this.

This definitely has something from Emma! But I don't know what that code means at the bottom.

  23. Using this site (http://25yearsofprogramming.com/fun/ciphers.htm) i couldnt solve it with a substitution solver.

    And this site (http://www.ssynth.co.uk/~gay/anagott.html)
couldn't find a good anagram for it.

  24. Here is a list of words that can be spelt with those letters:

  26. Interesting. Emma is setting up a secret code for something I am guessing?

  27. Late to the game, and all are so far ahead. I'm just gobsmacked.

  28. Mary - Maybe something on that website will help?

Ladycady - The more minds, the better! We're all trying to work together!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey Ladycady, we could still use your help. Emma went to Seattle for some reason and we're trying to figure out why. Anything you need to know?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mary - not right yet. I'm trying to bring myself up to speed. Thanks!

  31. I think I've got the AIM handle translated.
estf shsomdy mohjy = ward against night

Now I just have to test it, after work.
